Devastation Fight Night was live from Two Hearts Banquet Center in St. Louis MO. Special guest of the night is 8 time current UFC champion Matt Hughes.
Matt was signing autographs, kissing babies and taking pictures with his fans in the Midwest. The card was a mix of MMA and kickboxing with one female kickboxing match
Results:
Fight 1 was a heavyweight MMA fight that ended in controversy. Nate Taylor defeated Cody Harper in 2:40 of round 1 when the ref stopped the match NOT after a tap out from arm bar, but once Taylor rolled with the arm bar hyper extending Harper's arm and the ref Steve Snipes stopped it immediately because,
"These guys are amateurs, not professionals. I didn't want to see someone get their arm broken.'
Fight 2 was a dominant female kickboxing match won by TKO when Meaghan Lally blasted Shari Rausch in her debut. The fight was called at 1:49 of round 2.
Fight 3 was a welterweight MMA fight where the aggressive Mike Jacobs pounded Steve Low at :2* round 1.
Fight 4 was an impressive debut for Torrey Bogguess as he made Cody West tap to a rear naked at the :33 mark of round 1 in their middleweight MMA match.
Fight 5 was a kickboxing match in the light heavyweight division went the distance and was decision for the debuting Shawn Mueller over Scott Bresnamhan. Gotta give it to Scott for getting after taking some hard kicks from Mueller, who had the distinct reach advantage.
Last fight before intermission was a featherweight MMA bout with the debut of both fighters. MiliticJt Systems trained Joey Tensley made Robbie Buesking tap after slamming him and strapping on a naked choke at 1:06 of round 2.
After intermission they started with a light heavyweight bout between two first timers as Ryan submitted Mike Gellerstadt with a guillotine choke at :48 of round 2.
In the next of impressive debuts, Tim Francis dominated Tyson Wade. The ref stopped the fight at 1:06 of round won due to strikes in this middleweight MMA bout.
In a middleweight MMA bout, the devastating Junior Eiler pounded his opponent and submitted him by choke at :46 of round 1.
Next was the last kickboxing match of the night, and it went the distance. Dustin Bearsly had stror>y kicks all bout and received a unanimous decision 30-27, 30-27, 28-27 over Gerald Rios in this heavyweight bout.
Now it was time for the big boys. Super heavyweight MMA bout as Mac Epps took on Paul Harvy Both fighters were making debuts, both fighters brawled like bears through the first round and the fight looked even. As the second round started, the blows were flying until the fight was stopped aS Harvy tapped from the the devastating strikes at 1:45 of round 2.
The final fight of the evening was a middleweight MMA fight as Tyrone Woodley took on Willy Dale Tyrone looked to be toying with his opponent throughout round 1. In round 2 at the 1:50 mark Ty/i»i-» threw a colossal right that knocked his opponent silly and straight to the mat. Dale's mouth guard hit the ground before he did.
The night was taped for some sort of Charter Cable broadcast.
